Terry’s enthusiasm for esthetics started in college where he spent a summer observing professional makeup on a film being made near his school. Shortly thereafter, he worked for the makeup artist and honed skills that would later be a compliment to his training in the field of skincare. With seven years prior salon experience Terry founded our business in May of 1984 with the assistance of his partner Doug Sheward serving an enviable long established clientele. Although not adding new clients, Terry is involved with the daily operation of our business, testing skin care products and procedures.

Co-founder of Terry Binns Spa in 1984. Doug continues his work still as our business manager. He also assist the front desk of the spa when needed. Doug is typically down at our distribution and mail order center for salon professionals. He enjoys working with inventory control of products and salon equipment as well as some of the website work. He is also responsible for many of the finishing touches around the spa and helping maintain a visually interesting environment.

Bridget has been an esthetician since the summer of 2017, and joined the Terry Binns staff in 2021. Her love and understanding of the beauty industry grew as she watched her older sister pursue cosmetology. Since finishing her training, she holds 2 licensure in both Missouri and Kansas and continues to stay up to date on skin care trends. Her favorite treatment is a dermaplane paired with an enzyme.

Sean

Sean joined our spa staff in February of 2014 with previous hair styling experience. Sean’s expertise includes cut and color for both men and women of a wide age range. Sean has consistently impressed hair care clients with his ability to achieve volume as well as great styling. Sean is skilled with Aveda hair color and offers a variety of color services including creating realistic outstanding highlights.

Blanca has been involved in cosmetology for nearly 30 years. Starting out as a nail technician, she later received her full cosmetology license and now specializes in hair color. Her knowledge of the vast range of hair care products and comparative color lines is truly uniquely valuable and helpful. Blanca also color matches our Jane Iredale makeup products for foundation powder, cover creams, etc.

Lyndsey joined our spa staff in 2007 after having built a loyal clientele at a spa in the plaza area for seven years. With twenty plus years of experience and a focus on natural nails, Lyndsey’s attention to detail keeps her clients happy. She loves visiting with her guests and sharing her love of animals, gardening, and all things KC!

For a long time, Alicia has been our Spa Coordinator.She manages to bring calm and organization to the Spa. She has a stunning sense of style which she brings to product displays. Clients consistently enjoy making appointments and receiving her friendly reminder calls. She enjoys recommending the appropriate products to clients, and seeing their beneficial results.

Lynn

Lynn is our longest serving staff member, joining in 1998. Lynn’s specialties include natural nail manicures and pedicures, as well as applying gel polish used for extra long-lasting results. Lynn is well-known for working to achieve the softest possible feet for her clients offering the Herbal Bliss pedicure. The Herbal Bliss pedicure includes a step up to the Gehwol Med line of products as well as a wrap and massage.

Cristina

Cristina joined the staff in 2007. Her enthusiasm and passion for massage is constantly growing. During a more lengthy massage, the client has both a full body massage as well as a thirty minute focused massage on a specific area such as back or legs. Cristina enjoys the Jane Iredale products and has learned the techniques for application, as well as sampling the range of makeup items in the Iredale Mineral Cosmetic Line.
